Zeitgeist is a free online movie released via Google. It evaluates a number of conspiracy theories related to Christianity, the attacks of 9/11, and the Federal Reserve Bank. And with over a million views on Google Video it is becoming more popular everyday.
If you have seen it, what do you think about it? do you agree? do you disagree?
A scene from the movie.
In my opinion, the only way we can know if all this conspiracy theories are true is if more people watch the movie and start questioning the authorities. Only then, hopefully, the media might pay more attention.
I watched this several months ago and it really shook up how I look at the world. I looked up a lot of the claims myself (like the links between the Jesus / Horus story and the origins of the federal reserve) and confirmed them for myself. Then when I searched for rebuttals of the claims in the movie I couldn't find anything. I'd be interested to know if there are any good counter-arguments to Zeitgeist out there because I feel like I should be better informed about these things.
There are a lot of people who criticize Zeitgeist, specially because they, in some cases, do not provide enough sourcing for the books, interviews, etc. Which makes them look bad. It is always good to know both sides of the story.
Those who would trade in Freedom for Protection deserve neither.
When War is conducted, governments usually crack down on certain rights and gains certain powers. This practice is actually very pragmatic, assuming there is no corruption involved... but seeing as how People are involved in the governmental process, and seeing how all people are corrupt to a degree, of course there will be abuse.
This is why the United States has wars against everything. There's the War on Terror, the War on Poverty, the War on Drugs, etc. etc... all of these are called "Wars" in an attempt to call upon people's "patriotic" side so that they will simply roll over when rights are revoked. It's all came together more with the recent terrorist attacks against the United States.. Now, I'm not saying that those attacks were staged, but I'm also not saying that they weren't-I simply don't know. But, I do know they ultimately led to the Patriot Act. It's Ironic that the Patriot Act is called the Patriot Act, because in no way is it Patriotic. I mean, what do you think of when you think of the United States? Freedom? Equality? Democracy? So, If Freedom and Equality and Democracy represent the United States, then it would be Patriotic to UPHOLD these ideals, which the Patriot Act does NOT.
We've become so quick to give up rights... And I know why: We are a comfortable people. In fact, we are an extremely comfortable people... We're so Comfortable that we would do anything to stay in that comfort zone... We havn't known hardship, but we think that minor inconvenience is hardship. What Right do we have to give up rights? Our Forefathers GAVE THEIR LIVES to gain and uphold these rights, We must be prepared to do the same. Now, I'm not suggesting that we all go get ourselves killed, But I am suggesting that we must not waver in the face of hardship or death when it comes to protecting our rights, otherwise they don't mean anything at all. We must get over our want for comfort and Defend our need for Freedom! Freedom NOW, or all of our blood will be running in the streets.
Your words are strong and moving. I, too, feel the same things when I think about the American Revolution (against England). Lots of Patriotism there. The History Channel has bunch of show on the American Revolution - great stuff.
We, the USA, are no where NEAR those ideas now. We are comfortable.
anyone who questions or has 'mixed' feelings about religions directly stealing astrology, which isn't even true to begin with when it comes to people's personalities & morals need to rethink their place on the planet & in the universe instead of 'giving up' - that's just my opinion though.
