What do you think about the world conditions and where are we going?

This thread is to see what people are thinking.
Please do not bash anybody.

A lot of people at work and on the news have been asking what is going on?

I think we are in a time that I never had seen before or have read about this wide spread of issues.

The world economy is in real trouble and looks like its going to crash.

Terrorism both online and real world, Weather, Earth Quakes, Food shortages, Infectious Diseases, Just like everything is on high mode and spinning out of control.

It is like something out a end of world movie. Trying to find the stop button.
Movie sucks lets bring it back 10 thumbs down.

People are losing there job, homes and there life's over night. This is happening world wide. And it does not look like it is slowing down but speeding up.

So what is going on people?
Is it the end of world that people have been warning about?
The end of mankind like Nostradamus says, whats going on?
Just like to hear what people are thinking.
Please respect others view regardless what there beliefs are and there feelings.

Bad things have always happened, and I'm sure that people in the second world war or during the Cuban missile crisis also thought that the end might be near. First, I have a feeling that, like Alex V. said, maybe the planet is the way it's always been (Bubonic Plague, Crusades, burning of Alexandria library, sacking of Rome, etc.) -- but the difference is that now the world seems smaller because of all of our media coverage. Now that we can know everything bad that's happening all over the world, we are much more aware of it. We feel boxed in and that the end is near.
Second, perhaps things are getting worse. If they are, I can think of two reasons why: industry and overpopulation.; ▶ Reply to This

A tightening of the belts across the world will negatively affect the 3rd world countries the most.

The worlds nations need to pull their finger out about the environmental issues facing us. The main life line river in Australia is on the brink of drying up if Australia's government doesnt put radical reforms into play ASAP. We are moving too slowly in this space. I live in the driest state on the driest continent. So water is my No 1 concern.

I agree with Derek. Its not the end of the world. The apocalypse is not going to happen. Darwinism will rule. The weak will be weeded out :o); ▶ Reply to This

Right now, I am a Unix Admin, and so far, my type of jobs haven't been completely sent overseas. So, I have work and can find work, and it pays pretty good. I don't like paying the high price of gas, but I can.

Now, there are some that the only job they found was a minimum wage one across town. Their old V8 car was cheap enough to buy, and it did it's job to get them to work. Also, they might have been able to get a low interest (balloon) mortgage and buy a house.

But now, that V8 engine is using a lot of very expensive gas, and they are put in a tricky situation - gas for the car for work to pay house note, or - somethings gotta give. That's where everything go to hell in a handbasket. They can't afford the gas, lose their job, then lose their house, get a bad credit rating, can't get into affordable apartment.

Me personally? I am waiting for an astroroid to wipe out the entire planet earth - rich, beautiful, smart, dumb, poor and ugly alike. AND, it would be a quick eradication.; ▶ Reply to This
