OK, this has been confusing me FOREVER, tell me what you think.
HOW do you travel TO the future, if no matter what time you are in, you are in the present? Seeing the future makes sense, you aren't there yet, but when you travel there, aren't you still technically IN the present, in a different year? GOD this puzzles me...
Basically yeah, when traveling you are heading towards your own future from when you started, and once you have arrived you'd be in the present time, but only in a different year, and your old present day is the past.
It's all about frame of reference. Before you manipulate time, the destination is the future, but once you arrive, it's the present.
That's it in a nutshell. There are a lot of theories on time-travel and they're all sorta out there, and vary on the structure of time, whether it has one dimension or two. That is to say, whether time is strictly one-dimensional, or linear, or whatever. It's all a bit above me, being a guy that has a hard enough time with fractions.
