MIX

I just cant seem to grasp what it is that makes my life meaningfull. I know certain things that make me happy, but just not what I feel I should be doing you know? So im asking, what is it that you "MiXers" do, that makes you feel your moving in the right direction.

I was discussing something similar with a friend of mine last night, how in our modern world, at least in the UK, people seem hard pressed to find something or someone meaningful to believe in. They support their favourite football team (as in Soccer, in this case), or obsess over a particular singer or band, meaningless stuff like that.

Personally, I believe in myself, my personal moral code, constructed by me, rather than dictated by anyone else.

I create with every ounce of my blood (that sounded odd). But I fell in love with design, advertising, writing and just mostly self expression!

Jody, I agree with you. For me it's the same: Creation makes life meaningful to me.

If I'm constantly creating: ideas, projects, friends, a healthy body, a healthy mind, a meal, love... this keeps me busy in a good way because I'm active and also learning new things.

I like down time too, but when that downtime comes I enjoy it as a recharge moment.

I think it's about doing... because by trying out all different things you will find/hit on what you're passionate about.

So trying different things, experimenting and risking is big for me too. It could be something as small as trying a new dish that I would never think of eating... to trying something crazy like skydiving (which I soo want to do!!)

It's all that stuff. I think life is so beautifully bittersweet. It's pretty amazing. Sometimes I wish I could live forever... there's just too much stuff to do and I don't think I can fit it all into one lifetime.

Also... just want to add that feeling like "I don't know" is meaningful too. Those are the best parts of life. Trying to find meaning...

That's mine ... "I don't know" is what keeps me going. Always learning, because there's SO much to learn/see/do/experience. There will never be time enough to appreciate it all, but I can always try!

thats what follows when a problem occurs for me. i dint know it would happen so when ever i get into an accident, or i just have a flat tire i enjoy it a bit. i know its kinda weird i mean my car is damaged but its a unsuspected suprise to see this can just knock you out of this tv show that has be going and going just rerunning throughout your whole life. its what i wish my step dad or just family would understand when i choose to drive off into the unknown. its literally what keeps me going aswell :D

I agree -- I've always felt that confusion is a sign of growth and should not be something to get into a twist about. The main thing is to keep on doing stuff -- creating, living life, challenging yourself -- even when you don't feel like it. That's the hardest thing of all to do. But as long as you're taking steps forward, even tiny ones, you're moving in the right direction.

I'm sure your life is meaningful, Andy. Just the fact that you can think about those kinds of questions and that you're not afraid to ask them and to reach out to others to see what they think -- that means, to me, that you are probably an interesting and valuable person. It's hard to ask hard questions of yourself.

Yeah, true. Andy, I do think you're a very interesting person. People who ask those questions usually are.

It's a tough question, and you have to arrive through trial & error and introspection about what just happened to you. Some things you keep as "worthwhile", and others you discard as "worth-less" to you.

The tough part is that it's an individual choice, and you can't just do what works for someone else and assume it's going to work for you.
