Where is Multivac taking us? (Level i)

All I know for sure right now about this whole FUnetics thing is that it's going to be very interactive and worth the effort that we're putting in to figure it out. This is the place where I'd like to consolidate some of our theories and put our heads together to come up with some answers.

"Yes we're elite. We're the f*ckin' Wikipedia entry for elite, but we're not exclusive. And if you're not on board with us now you will be, or want to be. I have no doubt in my mind, and mind is pretty f*ckin' big." -Zadi Diaz.

So let's put our pretty f*ckin' big minds together and figure this pretty f*ckin' big sh*t out...

Not that this really adds to this current discussion but when you log into www.funetics.org now it now says 'propogate' instead of 'essiminate'. I'm assuming www.funetics.org are getting ready for the next level. Or people didnt know what essiminate meant.

Level ii is coming soon. I can feel it. I've already started the discussion for it that way as soon as it airs there's a place for all of us FUnetics Fanatics to come and collaborate. See you there!

Whoa. They redesigned www.funetics.org a bit. Aside from "Disseminate" being changed to "Propogate", there's a "Logout" option at the bottom.

I logged out and it takes you back to the "Propogate" screen but above it says "Success is Relative" now.

I think I've heard that somewhere else. I'll let you all know if I find something.

"Success is Relative" was a quote from Modernist Poet, T.S. Elliot. He was a poet, a dramatist, and literary critic in the early 20th century. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for Literature in 1948.

A quick though: The fact that I just used the internet to "broadcast" this information leads me more and more to believe that the internet AND people (us) are a symbiotic Multivac. One doesn't exist without the other.

Anyway. T.S. Elliot. "Success is relative". That's all I have for now.

Your reply beat me by one second! No fair.

Actually it is relative, that means that when you plan something you have expectations, and when those expectations are full or almost done you can say you are succesfull, I think they meant they achieved a goal, but there is more to go

(I posted this on the level ii thread before I noticed that vincent asked to wait until we've seen the episode. oops. anway...)

I've finally got a few concrete observations to share.

1) the new user named Multivac (note case-sensitivity).
I've been a (casual) member (viewer) for months now, adopting the name MULTIVAC (formerly/currently "Matt") as a symbolic gesture, but the fact that a new profile was created with the name Multivac on the day EP100 launched should be considered significant.
We've come a long way toward discovering (intuiting) the essence of this experience:
- We understand that we are the internet, and it is up to us to realize it's potential.
- The most exciting potential is it's ability to not only connect every individual on the planet, instantaneously, but
also provide us with seemingly infinitely evolving ways to learn and communicate information, which is
the future(or the key to the future), in a nutshell
- If the internet is the quintessential community, each sub-community is a microcosm.
|__ EpicFU is the owners manual for the internet., which means we own the internet
|__ EpicFU and MIX represent a new level of self-awareness as a conscious internet community, an
ongoing, evolving experiment: campfire discussions, active vs. passive participation quotients, etc.
|__ Each individual is the universe trying to understand itself, we are the internet trying to define itself, to
become the master of its own destiny
... so what I was trying to get at when I typed the "1)" earlier... the heading on Multivac's page says "System is as system does." regardless of the original intent at the outset of this experiment, we have already chosen, through our active participation, the direction we want to take this, which brings me to my next point....
2) "C.Y.O.A." - choose your own adventure.
3) though there have been changes made to the FUnetics site, there is still no level xiii

[i've been on the phone with an old-close now-faraway friend with some Great and Deep Questions Without Answers that have taken us hours now to explore and I've lost some trains of thought. I wanted to acknowledge the role of psychedelics as a tool for collective consciousness expansion, per one of vincent's early posts... and some other stuff... damn it's late now. all coherent thought is exhausted, as am I.]

anyway... masticate on that for awhile and let me know how it tastes. (c:

Back to the /--/-/----/--/---/ thing: If you turn this into binary, making / = 1 and - = 0 then it comes to a total of 151,841. A quick google search of this turned up only two interesting things. Firstly it is the product code for a type of biscuit in a big UK supermarket and secondly a recipe for coffee and walnut cake from australia. Not sure either of these help.

If you make /=0 and -=1 then you get a total of 110,446 which is the code for the gene for acetyl-Coenzyme A acetyltransferase 1. One of the things you find easily on a google search of funetics is a company selling technology bridging the human / computer barrier - could this all be involved?

Alternatively, 110,446 could be a date 11/04/46 (depending on whether you use the US or European way of readin dates this could be either 4 Nov '46 - the day the UN Educational, Scientific, & Cultural Organization (UNESCO) formed

or 11 Apr '46 which might be important because nothing interesting seemed to have happened on it
