Are we Multivac? (Level ii)

FUnetics Fanatics: We've come up with some great ideas so far. The amount of thought everyone's been putting into figuring this out is amazing. We've passed through Level i together. Let's continue to put our heads together and work through Level ii.

maybe an effort to bind us together, make us more real to each other. (see my reply to your m*****e @ level ii)

Thats what I keep thinking of - making us all part of a new 'society'. If we are all accountable active participants we can make the right choices for our future. No longer feeling feeling disconnected or guilty for letting someone else take the lead who is doing a terrible job.

I know, I couldn't check the site until this morning... had important non-internet stuff to do!
Wow. Lot of food for thought.

I think Matt is right... to help us connect better? I had never even joined epic-fu until this episode... Now I'm super-involved in this group. I think it's about a community. The internet is gradually breaking down barriers with things like openid and others... eventually it will be one big barrier free community.. maybe.

When you open up and admit a mistake to another person, there's definitely an immediate sense of honesty and openness. Maybe that's part of it, or maybe it's what I'm reading into it.

I love this idea of a retcon that we are a part of. I mean, Zadi even specifically highlighted this group; they want more people in the group contributing ideas.

More contributions: more layers of meaning that can be retconned into the whole thing.

Although Multivac has stated he is not our enemy, I would like to point out that one reason a person (an entity ) would want to know your mistakes is to use them later. This is not to say Multivac will use our mistakes against us but may use them just the same. I guess what Im saying is maybe Multivac is simply gathering data about us...........whatever our role in this little adventure will be. This would be exspecially usefull regarding the theory that the Funatics are actually guiding the direction of FUnetics.

Thats what I'm saying too... I think that we are writing the owner's manual for the Internet here because well... we are the Internet. Without us the Internet might hypothetically exist but there would be no content on it. Here we are, writing the owner's manual to the Internet...keep up the good work guys.

Hey Ken, I think you're right. I hope you're right at least.

I just made this discussion, and some people may understand why I started this topic, I think we all make mistakes, I think, a big part of a change is that we have to recognize that we make mistakes, and from that we can find our path or make things the rigth way, like Multivac said in a discussion, if we have the will, we can reverse the path of things, to a better world, to stop the entropy.

My mistakes?, I admit is to ignore things, I ignore people, I ignore the important things going around, cuz it is easier to ignore than facing them.

I will face the Truth and try to do something about it!, in other words try to be an active member of things instead of being sitting watching everything getting doomed!

Appears to be a paper written by this graduate student at MIT: http://web.mit.edu/kewalden/www/ His paper is about the philospher and mathematician, Willard Van Orman Quine. Kenny Walden (the student) is arguing that Quine made some mistakes in his theories about epistemology (philosophy of knowledge).

Here's a website about Quine:
http://www.wvquine.org/

I'll take a closer look later... but I'm not sure it's gonna be significant. Good find, though! Maybe something will come out of it...
