only one thing comes to mind .. .

Apathy by definition is
1 : lack of feeling or emotion : impassiveness
2 : lack of interest or concern : indifference

CONCERN, that to me would be the biggest problem other then language .. . people in general have a hard time not thinking solely about themselves

fuck wanting to take the time out of their ever busy schedule to help .. .

I ME MY MINE .. .

hmmm ok, this coming from a Latino guy that is damn proud of his roots.....

-My story is long, but i'll give you the short version so that you understand my opinion. I was brought to America about 7 years ago, not by choice, but because of nesecities.
I have lived in Texas, North+South Carolina and Virginia, and have made great friends everywhere, but what I think makes a difference when you try to communicate with other people is the ability of reading their reactions to your point of views before an argument develops.

In other words, If i tell Steve that I like chocolate cookies because they are yummy and he disagrees in a polite manner I will most likely be open to listen to his output on the subject. On the other hand, if he decides to shut me down by saying that chocolate cookies are bad for you and that I shouldnt eat them because they are made with mystical and magical elements that will somehow convert me to the dark side and he is not willing to explain himself, then....WHY WOULD I LISTEN TO HIM!!!!!????

At the end of the day, being polite in a community like this is what makes us....us.
Also dont forget about your body language, 80% of what you are trying to say doesnt even come out of your mouth :0!!!

Languages is one of the many gifts of the anunnaki. To overcome this, we must speak with the heart not the mind.

I watched this today - and while many will disagree with the opinion or content, I thought it was quite appropriate to share this in this discussion about communication - not only does he take a moment to tell us was certain slang means there in London, but this video post / commentary has the ability to enable the viewer to select which language they would like the subtitles to be in !

You know I think that's a great site for bridging language barriers with the whole subtitles but that dude surprised me! I studied cultural studies and humanities and my mouth was left open speechless after watching that dude.

whoa i can see how some can be quite offended by this mans message speaking of language/cultural and communication barriers.

Nobody wants to see someone from another culture speaking badly about their culture.
For example I'm from Detroit and I want people to say nice things about Detroit.

who can say who's culture is better. who's traditions are best and why should every one be the same this world would be a very boring place.......i don't think it's nice to slam peoples cultures.
That white mans message "More Demands from Isam": i'm sure is hurtful to Muslims
Eh,
such as art is in the eye of the beholder, everyone has an opinion, what is entertainment for some is garbage propaganda for others.
This is not an individual problem and such messages spew out feelings that can cause someone who is ignorant to consume to translate said video message, and treat those from the Arabian Diaspora poorly and and totally miss the message that that website has a cool international language translation on it that's not cool....

yep.

Often the hateful biggots do get their turn at the international microphone.

But hey, nobody likes Detroit. well, the Pistons maybe...

Hey wats up, This is leo Im in Comunication - Interactive Media at the University of Quebec in Montreal.

First of all i would like to say that Epic is a complete jewel. i discovered the FU as i was you-surfing. AWSOME SHOW!!! whaa, its simply amazing. Best 5 sec information ever, this is a perfect news genre for mobile phones. Might be the next step for Epic Fu, WuHaA!

So this blog return is for the EPIC-FU for 3/25/2008 - from sxsw to berlin show.

This concerns the topic on mass communication, so basically covers the idea of finding a common language, or code that will not have mistaken interpretations through out the world.

It seems that there's a common communication between human beens. This language can be called in a more popular term, body language.

Body language does include certain "dialects" or "expressions" depending of the culture which the individual learned his corporal rhetoric, but i believe there's common ground through out these dialects, due to the fact that we come from a same species.

this obligatorily means that genetically, there is a common communicational language. Genetically because of muscles placed in a certain way, bone structure, forces us to express our selves with how our face functions.

Now, understanding and basically extracting the superfluous (due to culture variety) that surround this common speech would allow us to know what the common ground is.

from this common ground we as "visual directors" lol, could then work from there.

P.S. No to sure this is the right place to blog. I didn't only want to respond to this video, i also wanted to share this blog to the entire discussion. Please poke me to say if this appears as wanted or not
Thanks!

The thing is much more complicated than one person can see. First is politics. To be honest, I hate American government. They are killing people without any regret. But, they are under rich people, like puppets. Surprisingly, American people aint do **** about that. You support bunch of revolutions, that are triggered by American government, but you can't clean up your own house. By the way, i don't think that average American men or women is bad person, just a bit to much ignorant about the rest of the world. Second. Religion. A bit touchy theme. It's not that I don't believe in God, I just dislike his fan club. My country was 500 years under Muslim Turks, and now, we have problem wit Shiptars, also Muslims. One of my best friends is Muslim, and I have no problems with that. I have problem with people who wants peace of my country. We also have problem with Catholics. Couple years ago with Croatia, during the WW II with Hungarians, now again... Ortodox land like mine, was pain in the *** to Vatican for centuries. We are still. And all this shows us one thing. We are different. We speak different languages. We have different customs, Gods, believes, skin colors, prejudices etc. And we can live as neighbors. The main thing that makes us fighting is money. We live in capitalistic world, where money means life. We would kill for it. We would ignore for it. We would rape whole nations for it. We sell God for some cash. I, don't hate single person. I don't hate nation. I hate system.
