I was not talking about free content. I was talking about the fact that the economic system that is used to distribute it is broken, and people are trying to make sense of it (and failing to do so, miserably). They are doing crazy things like trying to put the equivalent of toothpaste into the tubes and trying to install wind shields, blinkers and bumpers on horses. The automobile took a LONG time to get right not because of design of the engine or the wheels - it worked fine getting someone from here to there - but there was no proper infrastructure - no paved roads, no stop signs or rules/laws, no gas stations - this is no different.

Do you think this infrastructure that allows people to use EPIC-FU just gets paid for via you monthly internet service bill ?

I mean, when you buy a magazine - do you know that one copy (that is right ONE copy) costs nearly 100 bucks to actually print and get in your hand - it is all subsidized by something !

-- and that is the reason my friends that is why the FBI will most likely declare "no foul" on MediaDefender - they are actively in the business of discovering where all the wholes are.

One could reasonably suggest that perhaps the reason that this 'system' got knock down was because it was too fragile and was not actually set up properly - which (i will bet) is what will be what the FBI finds.

--oh -- your reading suggestion (sheesh - i froze here!)

"..and if I filled my shiny new 160gb iPod up legally, buying each track online at the 99 cents price that the industry has determined, it would cost me about $32,226."

And this person thinks that the RIAA is evil, and this is perfectly okay ?

That pretty much his position. His arguments are ill formed - yikes - he compares record companies to newspapers for crying out loud - and his answer - support artist directly - laughable! Area we to only listen to local music like in the 1920's before radio ?

How would he even KNOW a new artist existed without the infrastructure.

How would I have ever met you ?

okay, I will stop and go hurtmyself at the gym.

guys - FUnetics is wonked out at the moment. very sorry about this. between all the travel cross-country to promote the rev3 deal and the site relaunch, some bugs have cropped up that need attention.

i'm working on getting it sorted out this afternoon to coincide with the relaunch...

Oh man, it's been so long, but We're back. Sorry for my late arrival. I was relying on a signal from a neighbor for my net access and they moved. I'm here in the Library right now. I'll get booted in about 25 minutes, so I'll try to catch up pretty quickly. I see you guys have already made a ton of progress.

I'm in! It's working (kinda) now. I say we STILL throw our horsepower behind the "/--/-/----/--/---/".

I say the 4 space 2 space is "Epic Fu". I could be wrong. I could be right. I am still lost.
