My top 3...

1) Kitchen: conversations about how to handle stuff in kitchen, various recipes, appliance problems, usage of different tools to make cooking easier and more fun, etc, etc.

2) Babies (no comment)

3) Pets

And to all the philosophers above: the purpose of this discussion was to name all the things which men rarely talk about (or not at all), and you think should talk more.

That's my point. I don't know any men who ignore any specific topic. And I don't know any women who just talk about cooking, babies and pets all day.

My reasons for this are stated above.

Bernie, I dig your question. I, for one, express the same opinion as the "who cares" people. However, not because it is unimportant. I feel ANYTHING anyone says is important, otherwise - why say it? But, in context, people who don't know you may think your "words" are useless - your true friends will not.

Listen to the late great George Carlin talk - some of it is truly gibberish, silly, and useless. But, it's funny - and that is the point. Everything doesn't have to be "carved in stone"-able. Sometimes, it could be used for fun.

Now, all that being said, we men don't talk about our health (hair included - at least our scalp). I for one don't, because I don't need the empathy. If I have cancer (god forbid), talking about it won't cure it or make it better. That when I stop talking.

Relationships are the same way. Sometimes saying, to our minds, the mostly stupidest thing could make a relationship turn around and steer into safe waters - but we refuse to do it.

Peer pressure stops us a lot also. Just like someone eluded to - talk about your hair, and you are now considered a "metrosexual".

If you were to know me, you'd think I was schitzo because I talk differently to different people - based on how they respond to my talk. If they like silly - I am that way. If they like serious - same. They talk in small words, I change my language. They use big words - I try and hang with em.

I DONT TALK ABOUT SPORTS OR BEER AND FEEL PRETTY MANLY, WHATEVER THAT IS. I THINK SOME MIGHT NOT TALK ABOUT HAIR CARE , WHAT EXACTLY MAKES TALKING IOF THAT UN MANLY?LOL
