The fact that there is no simultaneous release for Mac or Windows is still shameful to me. It's borderline pathetic and indicates to me that while they may have innovative concepts under the hood, they've written a Windows dependent piece of software. This flies in the face of everything they talked about in their silly comic.

Even the founder of Google, Sergey Brin, said that not having a Mac version was "embarrassing."

Brin asked BoomTown's Kara Swisher if she'd try out Chrome and she said, "No." She uses a Mac.

He then commented that it was embarrassing to not have a Mac version and that he hoped to have one in a few months. He's running it in VMware on his Mac! LOL.

When developers set out to create a new product, that they hope will be significant, one factor they seriously need to take into consideration is simultaneous releases on Mac, Windows and LINUX. At least Mac and Windows.

When you have companies like Blizzard capable of releasing simultaneous dual platform versions of a product that is vastly more complex than a web browser, you have to wonder why companies like Google can only manage a Windows version of a silly browser.

After a day of using it I found Chrome to be very solid for a beta. Impressively stable. It's buggy. I mean there are zillions of little things, but no show stoppers. This doesn't render on this site, that doesn't render on that site, you can't hear sound on one, you click and click but the download doesn't start... but I never had it hang up once, which I think is their big claim to fame.

As far as search options, I'm not saying I want different search options. I can easily go to another search engine. I want Google to get the heck back to work on their search engine. That is their core competency and I want them to push that technology.

Other folks are already starting to experiment with other search metaphors, natural language, etc. I'd like to see Google's search engine get a whole lot smarter and become a whole lot more tailored to me.

I don't need another web browser. It's kinda pointless.

Pretty sweet home screen but it bugs the hell out of me that I cant scroll up with my touch pad! Little OCD kickin in.

Also like the tabs on the top, it's like a little filing cabinet. I haven't tried loading addons like roboform but I am pretty sure they won't work yet...just a guess.

I would be happy to give the browser a try, but they have yet to develop a Mac version. I find that a little disappointing really 'cause I love its simplistic look...... I guess I'll just stick with Firefox then.

Well, it's a week later and every I know has Chrome. We all love it. Google can do no wrong. I'm signing my life over to them later this evening.
