I'd like to talk a bit about wind power.

I was reading that one of the various pros and cons about this technology, as I live in area where we have little wind, therefore no installation of this kind.

But what makes me wonder are the aesthetics concerns. A lot of experts are contrary to the installation of these mills, saying that they ruin the "panorama", but I disagree!

I've recently visited the french region of the AUVERGNE, where there are a lot of these mills, and I thought they were beautiful to see, a truly awesome view.

I'm obviously talking about the modern windmills, surely not the old types.

What do you think about them?

That ranking is unfair :( I know it's not a competition at all, and that any amount of wind farms is good... But the United Kingdom is only small, we can only fit so many... Give us a boost, go on.... Plllleeeeeaaaaase. Queen and Country!

I go through lots of wind farms whenever I head up to Scotland. To me, they just feel like progress in the right direction. We used to rely on wind so much historically, so it only seems natural to exploit a free resource like that for electricity.

this will change your views of the 'high priced form of amazing energy'

it will pay off and i think its a very good idea. but just not everyone is willing to put "that ugly thing" on their house.

As you pass thru Palm Springs, there are hundreds of wind turbines. When there are that many, they look cool. Sticking a single one somewhere - although free energy - would look unattractive.

I'd have to read up more on the waste, but I think nuclear energy is the future (near). 3 mile island and Chernobyl are extreme examples of problems with nuclear energy. Nuclear plants only require water (which is NOT mixed with fuel, only used as heat exchanger) and can be built anywhere. They make SOOOO much electricity - and this it my reason for suggesting it.

Maybe the solution is more safety in construction? Also, to prevent it from being an eye-sore, why don't we let the graffiti artist tag it with wonderful illustrations.

On the wind turbines, we could ad lights to it? like this:
