MIX

Hey Guys,

So on this week's episode Eric Rey introduced us to a new segment called Fast Food Freestyle, where he takes ordinary fast food items and mixes it up to make something different.

He also made a call out at the end of the segment for any additional ideas for Fast Food Freestyle. What would you like to see mixed up, or made different? Are there any ideas? Like pizza topped with something unexpected? Or a burger mixed in an unusual way? Seems like there are a lot of ways this can go.

like the idea, but right now i cant come up with anything. Maybe making a stir fry out of a yoshinoya bowl?

Rey's Carbon Footprint after driving around collecting his ingredients is unforgivable! - all for a wrap and sundae!

I thought so too! And that "sundae" looked yucky.

I'm poor... I want to make food that is fast and cheap.

I always end up with weird combinations of stuff in my fridges.

- A can of Mixed Vegatables
- Ritz Crackers
- Mayo
- Ketchup
- Can of Soup
- Tuna (smells)
- Bread
- Weird liquid on the floor Eww!

Ok GOGOGOGOGOGO!

For realz though. Maybe you could show me how to make a meal of of stuff you just end up with at the end of the week. Maybe a good lunch dish. Remember to recycle your plastic take out containers as food storage. I don't really care if it takes forever or not.

Maybe some themed dishes for a romantic dinner or a quick party dish. Something that you can include a little history on so that I can sound traveled.

Teach people how to add some "culture" to there get together, or board friday nights with friends without going broke. Be fast.

Here is an idea It is fast food but at home.....take some spicy vegetarian chili, throw it ontop of whole wheat spegetti, and mix. You can top with sour cream or cheese. It's healty and you can feed your friends on the cheap. It's great with a cold beer! ( Geez, How do you spell spaghetti?)

Another fast food at home on the cheap... I get a fresh french bread ( the fat one) I cut the top off and save it. then I gut out the milldle. I have about four different ways of filling it up. I'll list them at the then end. I then put the lid back on, Slice it into several sections. sometimes heat in the oven but not always. If you watch the wine lists and sales you can be ready with a cheap but excellent wine that complements the indgredients.
1) Pesto sauce is spread inside the bread boat and on the bottom of the lid. Frozen spinache is cooked and drained. Sun dried tomatoes soaked in hot water and then sliced are addded. Sometimes I don't go for the pesto and I just sprinkle in feta cheese.
2) Marinara sauce and ( trader Joes premade) Turkey meatballs.
3) Motsarella cheese, fresh basil and fresh tomatos and balsalmic vinegar.
4) Frozen spinache and artichoke dip mix. I spread into the boat and grate fresh parmasean on top.
5) OK I lied I've done more than four, Good Tuna with wasabi is awesome but so is old fashioned tuna melt. I've done a broccoli and cheddar boat too.
Mom alert..sometimes the only thing my son eats is the inside of the bread I scooped out. LOL

Nice segment. But he basically recreated a 1997 cold "Fresh Stuffed" pita sandwich from Wendy’s. Not sure if they still sell these anymore. But it was called a “chicken caeser pita”

umm i dont have any exact ideas, but i think that nukable food mash ups would be a great idea...you can prepare ingredients while they are getting cooked in the microwave

either way, keep it FAST. the main reason i dont eat is by the time it takes me to get and prep and cook all the stuff, im not hungry anymore

Hi there!!,

First I would like to say that I'm not very fond of fast food. I think cookin is skill and is artistic. And I think it must be a slow,... slow process.
But... all though I'm miles away (we do have a McDonalds here, ... imagine that!) maybe I can propose few things...,

Ok, ... going to more than one fast food store is probably a waste of those extra 20 min.

(I'll try to make it on the budget)

Get basic pizza! (with mozzarella if possible).
Go to a grocery store. It's nice to incorporate natural ingredients.
get spinach, rocket, eggs, and I strongly recommend more mozzarella (fresh!).

Ok, Pizza No 1

Put the spinach (just the leaves) in a pan stir fry (stirfryng is when you put a little oil in a pan, and you cook in a very high fire steering constantly ... Chinese people do it all the time!) very quickly, adding some salt (and If you like a bit of garlic).

Place on the pizza the spinach (it must be green like the healthiest green you have seen on a cooked vegetable), and brake the egg in the middle (...Sure you can put more than one), add the extra fresh mozzarella and put in the oven which you all ready pre-heated, at a super high temperature. When the cheese melts ... is ready to eat!

Pizza No 2,

take the pizza, put on top the fresh rocket( I don't know if I spell correctly is a green veg), also put o top the fresh mozzarella..., no need to cook again if the pizza is hot. (you must add a little grounded black pepper though...) ... enjoy!

I hope this helps!
