When I was in school, all traffic was monitored, logs were kept and sites blocked. It's their internet connection.
Be glad it was just the school, rather than the country.

No. Not at my school. They give us a little freedom on the internet. We can listen to music on the internet and play games during computer class, but we're not allowed to get on myspace or facebook and websites like that.

at my school it's the same: internet logs, password pages (myspace,youtube,etc.) (easy to bypass, but that's something else=) one student at my course played some flashgames after lesson, our principal got it and this guy got REALLY in trouble! I think it's a little bit too observed! During the lesson i can understand all these things, but after... not really

There weren't any restrictions in my school. Not even a pr0n filter for that matter. Not for a while at least, might have changed now. I haven't noticed any restrictions in my college either, you can pretty much surf where you want to.

Our school just has pre-blocks, any site they can't find a good reason to block they list the reason as pornographic content.

I think schools should ban some sites like porn but not all the sites. In my university You Tube is banned!!! That is exagerated. You Tube is excellent for some work because you get some useful videos. Myspace and Facebook are allowed.

In school everything was permited except for porn and msn messenger.

What kind of schools are you guys going to that block out sites? For K-12, I would understand, but if you are going to a university and sites are blocked, that just sucks. I know that USC doesn't block out any sites at all. Port forwarding works fine too.

lol i remember my senior year they tryed to monitor or internet and block sites that wasnt educational. but theres was so many ways around it. i remember i told my teacher that it was stupid and i used yahoo and google and still got to the sites i wanted.

I don't think that they have to much control at all. From past experiences with my school, they don't have seem enough. If your smart enough to use google to search up hacks you can go on porn sites while your doing your homework.

YOU ARE ALL LUCKY! NOT ONLY ARE OUR SCHOOL COMPUTERS BLOCKED BUT ANY CONTENT POSTED ONLINE BY A STUDENT THAT THE SCHOOL FINDS INNAPROPRIATE MUST BE TAKEN DOWN EVEN IF ITS ON YOUR MYSPACE, FACEBOOK, ETC.
