I despise Facebook. I've resisted creating and account and fortunately for me, here in Edinburgh at least, the vast majority use Bebo. Bebo I can stand, although it seems to be trying to imitate facebook.

Just because I haven't got an account doesn't mean I'm not familiar with the features offered by Facebook and the style used. I'm not ignorant of Facebook, I simply choose not to use it.

theres lots of people on facebook that i know but with all of the stupid apps that they have on there and the damn feed that tells all of your buisness, people have shyed away from it. i mean really i hate going on there and getting like 40 request to join an app that i wouldnt even look twice at such as the Disney princess quiz. i only go on there to see if theres any new news from my club at school.

Facebook used to be great. But then anyone over 13 could join and they started adding ridiculous applications which whore themselves out at every opportunity.

I really don't actively use any social network. I think I would if I had a digital camera with photos to share but that's probably about it.

Facebook is crap because you end up with a billion apps on your page which defeats the purpose of having an organized layout if it scrolls for two miles.

let's say that IF CIA was behind the facebook thing, they could easy get info from people, I got a face book there, but not with my real name :P and all of the apps there is, you can sort of read a persone or profile it, and all of the pictures to. try to search on google.com to see how much info you can find about your a.k.a or your real name.

Thing is If the CIA was behind facebook they wouldn't need facebook to get your real name.

E.g. You somehow end up on a wanted terrorist list, and they turn to facebook to find out who you are. They simply use your email address to track your actions, see when/where you log into your email account and what you do. From the data they collect they can track and predict your movements, making it possible for them to arrest you.

I'm hoping that nobody on MIX is wanted by the CIA for anything though.

I have Facebook. I use it. I am from the US.

The Apps are awful though. They did it for monetary gain and its the most ridiculous bunch of crap around. Its really annoying especially since every time you log in your are bombarded with requests to join new Apps. Plus the fact that they all have to "know you" (giving them all your info) to actually use them. So there are very few I actually use.

The main reason I use Facebook: to keep in touch with friends who are at different colleges than I am. Its great for that.

Though I'll agree with some who say it does have some bad issues... just don't be stupid and put all your personal information on it.

i use facebook and out of all the social networking sites that i have been on i think it is the best for the sole reason of almost no spam at all.....some of the apps are fun and since its one of the few sites not blocked at work i use it alot.....i think that whole CIA thing is wrong just a silly rumour i think

Well, I for one enjoy the applications. But I wouldn't dare ad one if I didn't accualy use it ( I should really take those stickers off).
I am a Canadian and yes when I didn't have facebook I would hear a million times a day "Why don't you get it." So I did.
I like going through other peoples applications aswell, seeing wheat they have.

My favorite part are the groups.
I just can't handle myspace, its turned into this really confusing garage band site, with transparent text and pictures and glitter backgrounds.
