Computer talk.

So the second episode of Soundloading should be up in about two days or so. We included a little skit in this one that we all think is pretty funny. It stars our friend and correspondent Diana as a...well, I don't want to spoil it. But it's funny. We'll have a stand-alone version of it, dr pepper outtake and all. We're really excited about the upcoming Foxfire interview. They're a great local band and they've blown us away both times we saw them. That'll be coming up next week too. I'm about a… Continue

Newsoundnow.com

Hi all, I'm about to put out the 10th New Sound Now video, and I thought that was reason enough to make a new post. I do hope everyone has a chance to check it out. For anyone not familiar with the show, New Sound Now is a video blog done once a week about the state of the music industry, music news, and spotlights on cool ideas in the music world. NSN spotlights 3-4 music videos per show, as well, so there's lots to take away from each episode. It's sort of a free-form independent and critica… Continue

My book is on sale; also, I have a music blog

Two things I'd like to advertise as publically as possible: My book, which is available as a free download for the at-risk tech-savvy youth, is also on sale as a traditional, old-fashioned book. It's available at my website.

Also, I began a music blog. It's called New Sound Now. Unlike most music blogs, it'll actually have few mp3s available on it. Instead, it's mostly going to be a place for commentary. At…

My Book - No Chinook - is out now and free

At the end of the month, my book No Chinook will be available for purchase. You’ll be able to buy it online and from me personally. Over the next few months I’ll be doing my best to get it into bookstores and other online stores like Amazon. I’m really excited about putting it out. The book has been my baby for the past two and a half years, and I feel really good about it. The book is also going to be available as a downloadable ebook in PDF form. Because the cost of producing an electronic co… Continue

Asking Wes Anderson and Jason Schwartzman a question

So I'd already seen The Darjeeling Limited two weeks back and loved it. It has everything one loves about Wes Anderson movies without that impending sense of dread and failure. I mean, the last three movies were more or less about postponing the dread and failure, whereas this one was more about forcefully picking up pieces after the dread happens, which generally makes for a brighter film over all. What stands out most about it, though, and this is true for all of his movies, is the soun… Continue

to which photoshoped image are you referring to ? Do you have photoshop ? If so, I can send you any source file that you might examine how I outline images and then use layers and blur tools (on the outlined edges) to make photocomposites...if it is simple retouching - where I am removing blemishes and wrinkles - I use the clone tool at 50 %...

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

you can't argue with someone who reads good stuff.

Lulu is manufacturing a copy for me right now and shipping it once that's done. I'm looking forward to reading it, especially because I'm trying to get over something right now. If you'd like to check out my work I can email it to you at whatever email address you'd like. Just let me know. Let's hear some of your thoughts about "Where Multivac is taking us."
